"My Bids Were Too High"

I hear this one all the time. "Sean, I tried federal. I bid a bunch of jobs. I was always too high. It's not for me."

Here's what I want you to understand: that is not a verdict on your company. It's a symptom, and it's a solvable one.

When your bids keep coming in high, it almost always means you're bidding the wrong jobs, pricing off the wrong signals, or missing what the government already told you it expects to pay. The information is there. Most contractors were never shown where to look.

I teach a specific technique for exactly this. It changes which jobs you chase, how you read what the agency expects, and where your number needs to land before you spend an hour on the estimate. Contractors who were "always too high" start winning — and winning at margins that make the work worth doing.

The problem with most marketing is it has no meat on its bones. So I'll show you, not tell you: get on a Zoom with me and bring the last bid you lost. We'll walk through what happened.
